As much as enjoying the game, you surely would also be aware that the more you stay out in the sun, the more you tan your skin. By the end of the day, you would notice that you have that perfect golden brown complexion you have been aiming at.
If you do not have much time to spare for spending some quality time out in the beach, for sure, you are into indoor tanning. A visit to an indoor tanning salon can now be turned into a lively social event.
You can invite friends to the tanning salons and together, your group could get that skin tanning procedure. As you expose your skin to the artificial ultraviolet light from artificial sources, you would definitely be able to get the tan you want.
If you still do not have much time and effort, you can do the tanning yourself. There are sunless tanning products available on the market that are basically aimed at providing a good golden brown color to your skin. All you have to do is to spray, rub or apply those products to the skin, and voila, your skin is perfectly tanned as ever.
Odd but effective tips when tanning
You think you know it all when it comes to tanning? You probably have not heard about these odd but very effective tips when getting a tan.
If you thought tanning is as easy as going out to the beach and exposing the skin to the sun or getting into a tanning salon to expose your skin to artificial ultraviolet radiation sources, well, there are enough reasons to reassess yourself.
Here are those odd and surely unheard of tips that you could consider when getting a skin tan, whether through natural or artificial means.
- Get plenty of sleep at least on the eve of the tanning session. You might have heard of how a good rest and sufficient amount of sleep would surely help maintain the quality and good texture of the skin.
- If you have a restful sleep, the circulation of blood and nutrients into your skin would be optimized for sure. Skin at its best quality and status is more prone to getting a really good tan.
- Exfoliate prior to the tanning activity. Exfoliation is a process wherein you are physically taking out the excess dead skin cell layer on top of your skin layer.
- Our skin naturally produces dead skin cells. The activity is part of continuous cell regeneration. It is estimated that the skin naturally produces dead skin cells every seven days.
- Thus, it is inevitable that your skin layer can be full of dead skin cells. Taking out those layers is more recommended before you finally expose your skin to tanning. Exfoliating before tanning makes the tan last longer.
- Use a wedge of lemon if you think you have overdone the tanning activity. You want golden brown skin, but end up having almost black? Rub a lemon wedge onto the skin and see how the tan is somehow reduced.
- If there is no lemon around, why not try a skin toner? Toners should be applied to the skin using cotton balls.
Of moisturizers and shaving
- Skin moisturizers are known for having the ability to dilute a faux tan. Like the lemon wedge, apply moisturizers to the skin immediately after tanning if you think you have overdone it.
- Shave your legs and arms before getting a natural or artificial tan. Shaved skin surfaces are more prone to UV exposure, resulting to better skin tan.
- The process of shaving can also be considered a good exfoliation activity especially when top layers of the skin are involved.
- Remove any trace of makeup from your face before taking a tan. You think sunbathing fully made up is cool, as it may also sidestep as a boy-hunting activity? Think again.
- Makeup and other impurities in the facial skin will make the tanning process ineffective. Chemicals might also react negatively and destructively to ultraviolet exposure.
